Under
the supervision of trained instructors C.A.N.T.E.R employs
Hippo-therapy and Therapeutic Riding, recognized forms of
therapy, for the treatment of individuals with physical and
/or mental impairments. Physically, the horse's movement can
improve and influence equilibrium, reflexes, coordination,
sensory motor skills and posture. Psychologically, Riding
Therapy develops self awareness, self esteem, self discipline,
and improves concentration. The bond between horse and rider
provides strong motivation for achievement like no other form
of therapy.

We are having a volunteer training day September 11 at the CANTER facility from 8 am - 12:30 pm. Snacks will be served. We need all kinds of volunteer help in addition to horse handlers and sidewalkers. We need fund raisers, people willing to make phone calls, those who help with fitting helmets, answering the phone, taking attendance, collecting fees, selling T-shirts, bookmarks and stuffed horses, contributors to our garage sales, painters, carpenters, electricians, administrative help, filing, secretarial work... We have a job for you. Come join us, make new friends, and enjoy the good feeling of work well done."
